Chemical Spill

In the event of an indoor chemical spill:

  • Evacuate the immediate area and call 911.
  • DO NOT touch, inhale or perform taste tests on the spilled material.
  • Provide first response units with as much information as you can about the material, spill circumstances and location.

If spill/fumes occur outside the building:

  • Keep staff and clients inside.
  • Close windows.
  • Establish contact with police, fire, and health departments.
  • Do not go outside.
  • Do not evacuate.

In case of hazardous vapor release:

  • Seek shelter
  • Close windows, doors, and vents.
  • Turn off hear and air conditioning systems.
Always keep all lines of communication open for instructions from emergency services.
